The Legend of Zelda: Skyloft's Children 2

Through the rest of the day, no matter how hard Link tried, Zelda would not speak to him. Even when he cried and told her that she could share his lunch for the next year she wouldn't speak. Zelda felt insulted that he would even think he was worthy of marrying someone like her, "I mean look at him!" She thought, "he's yucky, and not just a bit yucky but really, really, really yucky!"
A tear ran down her face, he'd asked whether they'd stay friends and she'd promised they would. Now, she wasn't sure…

Her thoughts were interrupted as three boys approached her; the first had brown hair, spiked in all directions and a surprisingly large build for someone of her own age, which reminded her of her father. He met her with a grin and sat beside her on bridge, where she had been hiding from Link. The other two stood awkwardly next to each other, one very lean and tall, the other short and podgy. The first boy, even when sat next to her, seemed to radiate the sense of control over the other two, as if his build, itself, was intimidating enough for them to get the idea that this was a job for him and not them. Whatever the situation was to them, she had no idea,
"What's wrong?" the first boy asked, flashing a grin,
"Nothing," Zelda replied, although her face was wet and complexion flushed, giving the game away,
"Well, my name's Groose, but you can call me G-dog or Groosey. You do, don't you?" He gave the other two a nod with which they mumbled 'Yeh' and 'Right', " So, what's your name?" he continued,
"Zelda,"
"Aha! The Headmaster's daughter?"
"How do you know?"

Groose blinked hard at her. How was he supposed to answer this? All he'd come over for was to check if she was okay, I mean she was a girl, she couldn't help herself, but he didn't expect to be interrogated,

"Why don't you ask yourself?"
"What?" Zelda replied confused,
"Isn't it simple? I want to be a knight when I grow up! I've done lots of finding out about the Knight Academy ever since I was three, and since my father was a knight, I want to be one too!"
"So you're brave?"
"Very."

Zelda smiled at him. It had been the first time she had smiled all day; the stranger-boy smiled back at her,


"BUT NOT AS BRAVE AS ME!"
And out of the shadows came a blonde boy in a knight's costume, far too big for him, carrying a wooden sword and shield and a knight's cap falling over his eyes whenever he stepped forward,
"NEVER FEAR, PRINCESS ZELDA, YOUR KNIGHT SHALL SAVE YOU FROM THESE MONSTROUS BEINGS!"

Zelda looked at Link for a second and then burst into laughter, pointing at Groose, Cawlin and Strich, who obviously looked humiliated at being called a 'monstrous being' by a boy they didn't know and who, to be frank, looked like an idiot himself,
"Who are you calling a monster?" Groose shouted in response,
"YOU! COME, PRINCESS ZELDA! IT IS ALMOST TIME FOR DINNER!"
"Not over my dead body!" Groose cried, upset, "She's my princess, I found her first!"
"No, you didn't, she's mine!"
"Mine!"
"SHE'S MINE," Link shouted back angrily, taking Zelda's hand as they both ran away laughing at what had just occurred,
"You know, Link," Zelda shouted as they were running, "Maybe you should be a knight, that guy doesn't stand a chance,"
"Yup, that's the plan," Link looked back at her, grinning, "So if you need saving, I'm your guy!"
